What Should Kids Wear?
T-shirt and sport shots or trousers. Dark sole trainers mark the floors so please don’t wear those!
Do Kids Need Their Own Bat and Balls?
We have lots of spare bats and balls for the kids to use. If you have one, then feel free to bring your own bat. However, not all bats are made equally so our coach may suggest using one of our bats. Starter bats are not able to put much spin on the ball – so they’re often best skipped altogether.
Can I Watch the Session?
Yes! We have lots of chairs within the main hall, as well as seating outside the hall if you’d like to use the time to get some work done!
Does my child need to have played before?
All players are welcome, whether they have played before or not. However, because the main junior session is a structured coaching programme, complete beginners may not be able to join in straight away.
To make sure everyone gets the most out of the session, new players are assessed on arrival and may be asked to complete a few basic skills first (such as ball control and simple rallying). If needed, they will start with a parent or volunteer helper until they’re ready to join the main coaching group.
We have added minimum requirements below to give you an idea of what is needed to start playing on the table, and to join the main coaching group. Help is always available though – we want everyone to feel welcome right from the start!
How does payment work?
£5 payment is taken during each session. You can pay by cash or by card. The first session a child comes to is free.
What ages is this available for?
The coaching sessions are for children aged 7 and above.
There are two sessions, do we have to come to both?
You’re welcome to come to both if you’d like, but no – there is no expectation of this! Just pick the day that works best for you.
